FEAR OF MISSING OUT An aspect of social media that has seemed to increase the amount of usage of it is the amount of news and current events that are discussed on these apps. “It’s entirely possible for there to be a disconnect between people who aren’t on social media and those who are,” Parent said. “If you’re not on it, you’re missing out on a lot of memes and viral content, so I can imagine for people who aren’t on it, there can be a sense of distance or isolation.”

As a tribute to friend Alex Peadbody ’16 who died on February 12, Stephen Archinal wrote his own composition for the marimba “Für Alex” which he performed last night at the band and orchestra concert.
