Captain Joe Kurta ’16 also thinks the team has been successful.
“The season’s been going well, we’ve had four people place at county’s which has not happened in a couple of years, and that’s a really big tournament” Kurta said, “This season has been the best one yet.”
Captain Earl Allard ‘16 said the reason why the season’s so great is because everyone’s improving.
“We have a lot of young guys and there’s a lot of room to improve” Allard said.
With all of the improvement, Allard said, “I think we are going to surpass last season and just keep moving forward.”
“Everyone is working hard and we all have a great bond” Allard said, “it’s a small team and a just a great comradery.”
Allard added the team’s traditions before meets include having pasta parties, watching Vision Quest (an 80’s wrestling movie), and just “chillin’.”
Coach Cimmarusti said that even for a bunch of tough kids they are really kind hearted.
“I don’t like any of the guys” Coach Cimmarusti said, “I love them. I mean what do I say about them? They have heart, they love each other, they work hard, they’re competitive and goal orientated.”
Allard said the meet to watch will be the district meet.
“I am really looking forward to the team districts because it’s going to be a fun time” Allard said, “we wrestle North and it takes place at home.”
