Boys JV lacrosse set to open season

By Adam Cervone ’17 | Staff Writer

The Grosse Pointe South boys junior varsity A team will face Clarkson High School today, March 24 for the start of the season.

Clarkson has a good reputation of developing good players that did exceptionally well in states each year, Nicholas Bojarczyk ‘17 said.

“Their varsity team is ranked fourth in the state, so we expect their JV team to be pretty good,” Bojarczyk said.

As for South’s JV team, there are certain areas that the team needs to work on, Michael French ‘17 said.

“We have a lot of skill on our team that could really surprise some schools, we just need to learn how to play the full game,” French said.

There is a lack of team chemistry with some people, but as the team gets more experienced through games, there we will be a more well bonded team,” Jack Brooks ‘17 said.

The midfielders, defense and goalie are all pretty solid on South, so it will be hard to beat them out, Brooks said.

“As for the game tonight, we don’t really know what our team will be like, but we have a pretty good idea that they reflect their dominant varsity team,” Brooks said.
