The lady Blue Devils golf team took fourth place in the MHSAA state golf championship last weekend, scoring 667 total points, according to the MHSAA’s official rankings.
The competing South players included Hannah Buzolitz ‘13, Tenley Shield ’14, Lily Pendy ’13, Kaitlin Dalman ’14 and Katie Motshall ’13.
“Everybody did really well, even if we would have liked to do better,” said Buzolitz.
Plymouth High School finished first, followed by Farmington Hills and Utica.
South’s team was aiming to get around 315 points in a day, said Buzolitz, explaining that any team commanding that score would be a shoe-in for victory. However, the best South score was 334 points on day two.
Although South did not conquer all of its opponents, the lady Blue Devils golf team had a strong season, Coach Michael Rennell said.
